UK als Guest of Honour bei Waves Vienna 2026
Waves Vienna 2026 will feature a special international focus: the United Kingdom as Guest of Honour. This spotlight places one of Europe’s most influential music scenes at the centre of the festival, creating space for artistic exchange, new collaborations and deeper dialogue between the UK and Europe. A diverse programme is currently in development.
Waves Vienna 2026 setzt einen besonderen internationalen Fokus: Das Vereinigte Königreich wird als Guest of Honour im Zentrum des Festivals stehen. Damit rücken wir eine der prägendsten Musiklandschaften Europas in den Mittelpunkt und schaffen Raum für künstlerischen Austausch, neue Kooperationen und vertieften Dialog zwischen UK und Europa. Ein vielfältiges Programm ist bereits in Vorbereitung.

Focus on Switzerland, current trends and proven formats

We are pleased to welcome Switzerland as our guest country for this year. We will deal intensively with our neighbouring country, but also the leitmotif of diversity and the meta-topic of unconcious bias will be dealt with comprehensively within the framework of the conference.
Wir freuen uns, heuer die Schweiz als unser Gastland zu begrüßen! Im Rahmen der Conference werden wir uns intensiv mit unserem Nachbarland, aber auch mit unserem Leitmotiv Diversity und dem Metathema "Unconscious Bias" beschäftigen.

In 2023, Waves Festival is moving a few streets away again and it's with a heavy heart that we leave the concert and conference halls of the WUK behind.In 2022, we already played some of the well-known clubs on the 'Gürtel', which went down very well not only with the audience and the conference participants, but also with the acts.
2023 bewegt sich Waves Vienna wieder ein paar Straßen weiter. Schweren Herzens kehren wir – baustellenbedingt – dem WUK diesmal den Rücken. 2022 haben wir bereits einige der stadtbekannten Clubs am Gürtel bespielt, was nicht bloß vom Publikum und den Konferenzteilnehmer*innen, sondern auch von den Artists sehr gut aufgenommen worden ist.
