Waves Vienna launches the Colombia Work Exchange (CWX) programme with a Delegates Tour from 28 March to 2 April in Vienna, Lubjlana, Budapest, Bratislava and Brno. Workshops and networking events will be organised in each city in cooperation with the local export offices.

Waves Vienna says thank you to 827 conference delegates and 13,798 visitors. The 14th edition was a complete success. The date for next year has already been set for October 2-4, 2025 and 50 Hyper Early Bird Festival Passes are now available for EUR 20. Hyper Early Bird Festival Passes for EUR 20.
Waves Vienna sagt danke an 827 Delegates der Konferenz und 13.798 Besucher*innen. Die 14. Ausgabe war ein voller Erfolg. Der Termin für nächstes Jahr steht ebenfalls schon fest, der 2.-4.10.2025 und zum Start gibt’s ab sofort 50 Stk. Hyper Early Bird Festival-Pässe um EUR 20.

As a small foretaste, we are pleased to present the first acts for this year's Waves Vienna, which will take place on the Gürtel from 5 to 7 September 2024: Bluai (BE) in the picture and David Arcos (CO) from our Guest of Honour Colombia.
Wir dürfen hier bereits als kleinen Vorgeschmack die ersten Acts für das diesjährige Waves Vienna, das von 5. bis 7. September 2024 am Gürtel stattfinden wird, vorstellen, darunter Bluai (BE) im Bild und David Arcos (CO) als erster Act aus unserem Guest of Honour Land Kolumbien.

Kolumbien wird Guest of Honour 2024
As part of a fact-finding mission by Austrian Music Export in November 2023, initial contacts were made with the music industry and music scene in Colombia and a closer analysis of the market revealed that it is not only incredibly diverse and open, but also very suitable for cooperation and exchange programmes. Reason enough for Waves Vienna to build on the findings of Austrian Music Export and present and shed light on music from Colombia, the market and the scene at Waves Vienna.
Im Rahmen einer Fact-Finding-Mission des Austrian Music Export im November 2023 wurden erste Kontakte zur Musikindustrie und Musikszene in Kolumbien geknüpft und eine genauere Analyse des Marktes ergab, dass dieser nicht nur unglaublich vielfältig und offen ist, sondern sich auch sehr gut für Kooperationen und Austauschprogramme eignet. Grund genug für Waves Vienna, auf den Erkenntnissen des Austrian Music Export aufzubauen und Musik aus Kolumbien, den Markt und die Szene im Rahmen von Waves Vienna zu präsentieren und zu beleuchten.

Two Viennese labels that share a love for raspberry soda and cosy, woolly sounds present their up-and-coming newcomers on Thursday, 7. Sep. The indie labels raspberry soda and Feber Wolle records have been sharing an office in Vienna's district Ottakring for several years and now, for the first time, a stage at Waves Vienna. It is going to be loud and colourful - from Synth-Pop to Indie-Punk.
Zwei Wiener Labels mit einer Liebe zu Himbeersoda und wohlig-wolligen Sounds präsentieren ihre aufstrebenden Newcomer*innen. Die zwei - noch immer sehr neuen - Indie Labels raspberry soda und Feber Wolle records teilen sich schon seit mehreren Jahren ein Büro in Wien, Ottakring und jetzt auch erstmals eine Bühne am Waves Vienna. We are pleased to welcome Switzerland as our guest country for this year. We will deal intensively with our neighbouring country, but also the leitmotif of diversity and the meta-topic of unconcious bias will be dealt with comprehensively within the framework of the conference.
Wir freuen uns, heuer die Schweiz als unser Gastland zu begrüßen! Im Rahmen der Conference werden wir uns intensiv mit unserem Nachbarland, aber auch mit unserem Leitmotiv Diversity und dem Metathema "Unconscious Bias" beschäftigen.

In 2023, Waves Festival is moving a few streets away again and it's with a heavy heart that we leave the concert and conference halls of the WUK behind.In 2022, we already played some of the well-known clubs on the 'Gürtel', which went down very well not only with the audience and the conference participants, but also with the acts.
2023 bewegt sich Waves Vienna wieder ein paar Straßen weiter. Schweren Herzens kehren wir – baustellenbedingt – dem WUK diesmal den Rücken. 2022 haben wir bereits einige der stadtbekannten Clubs am Gürtel bespielt, was nicht bloß vom Publikum und den Konferenzteilnehmer*innen, sondern auch von den Artists sehr gut aufgenommen worden ist.
